Print of Kitagawa Utamaro Wood Block from the book "Ehon shiki no hana" Vol 2, 1801
Beautiful reproduction of a Kitagawa Utamaro wood block print created for the book, Ehon shiki no hana, Volume 2 produced in 1801. The title of the print is "Two Geisha and Porter in Wind and Rain in the Night." The print is in the original handmade frame with the classic gold-on-red molding and linen fabric matte.
My parents purchased and framed this print in Japan in 1957 on their way to their next assignment in Burma.
The art measures 16 inches tall x 21 inches wide x 1/2 inch deep. Weight is 4 pounds.
The glass is cracked across the upper left corner. Otherwise the art is in excellent condition.
